Public Roles

Public Roles

Data-source methodology

The objective is accurate, attributable discovery—not copying every accessible page or filling missing facts by inference.

Source selection and legal posture

Public Roles prioritises official whole-of-government boards and employer career sites, then selected public-sector specialist sources. Collection must use a public, permitted path and respect applicable robots directives, access controls, rate limits, and source terms. Sources can request correction or removal through the published contact path.

Public Roles attributes every vacancy and links to the original listing. It does not bypass login walls, CAPTCHA systems, or other access controls.

Normalisation

Titles, employer names, locations, work types, salaries, dates and descriptions are kept faithful to the source while presentation noise is removed. Scraped content is treated as untrusted: executable markup, embedded documents, forms, tracking attributes, control characters, and unsafe URL protocols are removed before public output.

Public Roles does not fabricate salaries, locations, posting dates, closing times, employment types, remote status, ratings, reviews, or application behaviour to satisfy a schema warning.

Known limitations

A source can be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or change without notice. Some boards omit posting dates, closing dates, salaries, or full descriptions. Those omissions are reported by automated health checks and may make a record ineligible for public pages or JobPosting structured data.

Vacancy counts describe advertisements observed by the collection system; they are not counts of hires, approved headcount, or filled positions.
