Public Roles
How Public Roles works
A scheduled pipeline collects supported public listings, checks minimum quality, and publishes only records that meet the public eligibility policy.
Collection and validation
Source adapters read public employer or government job boards on a schedule. Each record is normalised into a common shape, unsafe markup is removed, URLs and dates are validated, and failures are isolated so one source cannot corrupt another.
Sources whose collection path conflicts with robots directives are disabled until an authorised path is available. A source outage is reported separately from a source publishing zero jobs.
Publication
The same central decision controls public job pages, sitemaps, JobPosting structured data, and indexing notifications. Missing, private, malformed, recruiter-only, expired, policy-blocked, stale-unverified, and non-canonical duplicate records do not enter those surfaces. A source adapter may clear a recruiter-only flag only when it has source-backed evidence for the actual hiring organisation.
Some useful public pages cannot carry JobPosting structured data when a source omits a required fact such as the original posting date. Public Roles leaves the field out rather than inventing it.
Applying
Public Roles formats and links the vacancy, but the source controls the authoritative requirements, deadline, and application process. The application button sends you to that source. Public Roles does not use directApply structured data because applications are not completed here.
