Closing dates and withdrawals

A record with a reliable closing date is removed from active pages, JobPosting structured data, and job sitemaps when that deadline passes. A source-withdrawn record follows the same removal path. A date-only source value is interpreted in the role’s Australian jurisdiction and encoded with an explicit timezone offset.

Public Roles currently returns 410 Gone for an expired or withdrawn individual job URL rather than redirecting it to the homepage. Duplicate URLs redirect only to the genuinely equivalent canonical vacancy.

Source outages and republishing

A transient source failure is distinguished from a withdrawal. Previously verified records may be retained briefly, but stale unavailable records are quarantined after the configured limit. Reappearance with the same immutable source identity can restore the stable URL; a genuinely new source identity is a new vacancy.

No misleading archive schema

Public Roles does not put active JobPosting markup on expired archives, search results, or category pages. A future archive page will exist only if it offers durable value beyond a closed advertisement.
