About this role

The Translink Operations Centre (TOC) ensures the smooth operation of South East Queensland's public transport network, monitoring performance and service connectivity 7 days a week. With a focus on peak periods and major events, the TOC uses real-time systems, data analysis and on-the-ground intelligence to quickly identify and assess service disruptions. Working closely with delivery partners, the team coordinates timely, multi-modal responses to minimise disruptions and maintain reliable service for customers.

THE ROLE: As the Advisor (Operational Customer Communications) within the Translink Operations Centre (TOC), you will oversee the day-to-day operations of real-time Communication Coordinators, ensuring effective and timely dissemination of information to enhance public transport communication. You will play a crucial role in maintaining seamless communication channels, promoting efficiency and addressing any real-time operational challenges to uphold the high standards of service delivery across Queensland's public transport network.

Some of your responsibilities will include: • Supervise real-time Communication Coordinators to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information related to public transport operations. • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to coordinate communication efforts and address any operational challenges promptly. • Monitor and analyse communication processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance overall effectiveness. • Review and approve complex messaging to ensure accuracy, clarity and alignment with organisational standards before dissemination by Communication Coordinators. • Provide guidance and training to Communication Coordinators, fostering a highperformance culture and maintaining a cohesive team within the TOC.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions • The successful applicant may be required to work outside normal business hours to support the 24/7 operational team, including weekends and public holidays. • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.

ABOUT YOU: To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in communications, preferably in a public transport or similar operational environment. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners. • Strong attention to detail, especially in reviewing and approving complex messaging to uphold accuracy and reliability. • Ability to adapt to dynamic and fast-paced environments, making sound decisions under pressure.

WHY JOIN US: We can offer you benefits such as: • a 36.25-hour working week • an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement that provides regular pay increases and other benefits • generous superannuation of 12.75% • paid parental leave for eligible employees • a range of development opportunities including unlimited use of LinkedIn Learning • access to an Employee Assistance Service + more.
