About this role

We are seeking Audit and Compliance Officers to join our Compliance and Engagement Group, you will work with taxpayers and their representatives to help them meet their tax and superannuation obligations by providing exceptional service in a multi-channelled environment to achieve outcomes.

As an Audit and Compliance Officer, you will be a professional who can apply established processes and procedures, work accurately under general direction, exercise care and judgement, and collaborate effectively to support team outcomes.

You will engage with taxpayers, advisers, and intermediaries to gather necessary information and explain requirements clearly though multiple channels e.g. phone, online and face-to-face. Throughout all interactions, you’ll maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Depending on the area you will work in, an average day might see you:  • providing tailored advice and guidance to taxpayers and their representatives on a range of tax and superannuation  • identifying risks and capturing intelligence to help formulate treatment strategies • investigating, analysing and researching information, policies, procedures, frameworks or tax laws to identify solutions

At the APS 4 level, you will apply established processes under moderate guidance, delivering quality and accurate work. You’ll support analysis, stakeholder engagement and delivery of outcomes working on developing your capability to support your own performance and contribute to the growth of the team.

At the APS 5 level, you will operate with increased independence, exercising judgment in managing more complex tasks, contributing to improvements and identifying issues. You’ll continually build your own technical and professional capability, while supporting development within the team by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to continuous improvement.
