About this role

Provide efficient and effective regional administration support with a focus on support for Volunteer Units within the region. • $72,189 to $79,753 + 12% Superannuation • Ongoing, Part Time (19 hours per week) • Location - Bairnsdale Office ROLE SUMMARY: The Business Support Officer is an integral role within the Unit Support Team, and responsible for providing support to the Senior Assistant Chief Officer (Unit Support) and general administrative support and coordination to the region specifically supporting Volunteer Units. This includes administration functions such as drafting correspondence, minute taking and management and maintenance of records in accordance with standards and guidelines within the VICSES corporate content management system. Additionally, reception, and request referral, tracking, follow up and completion are also functions of the role. Victoria State Emergency Service plays a major role in Victoria's emergency response activities during emergencies for which it is responsible including Flood, Storm, Earthquake, Tsunami, Landslide, along with supporting other agencies and departments as required under section 6A of the VICSES Act. WHO WE ARE: Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events. As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
