About the role
The Clinical Nurse – Ward 5C Cancer Care provides expert clinical nursing care and leadership within Cancer Care Services at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. The role supports the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care for patients receiving specialised oncology, haematology, bone marrow transplant, haemophilia and CAR-T therapies within a tertiary inpatient cancer care environment.
The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical assessment, care coordination and intervention for patients with complex health needs while contributing to education, leadership, portfolio management and quality improvement initiatives. The role also supports nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams through clinical guidance, role modelling and the promotion of best practice standards to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

• Provide advanced clinical nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to support patients receiving specialised cancer and haematology treatments.
• Demonstrate leadership in clinical decision-making and provide support, guidance and direction to nursing staff in complex clinical situations.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care across inpatient cancer services.
• Support education, learning and professional development initiatives for staff, patients and families while promoting an evidence-based practice environment.
• Contribute to quality improvement, service development, research activities and portfolio responsibilities that enhance patient outcomes and service excellence.
