About this role

THIS POSITION IS BASED IN ROMA The role of Youth Co-Responder is to provide diversionary support to young offenders subject to youth justice intervention, or those at risk of entering the youth justice system, with the aim of preventing offending & reducing re-offending. The Youth Co-Responder will work collaboratively as part of the Youth Co-Responder Team comprising of the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support and Queensland Police Service (QPS). The Youth Co-Responder will provide support and coordinate service delivery to ensure the required actions and referrals for young people at risk, are undertaken in a timely and efficient manner. This will require the Youth Co-Responder to work with dedicated QPS officers in unmarked police cars and in the office, to connect with young people and families, patrol hotspots and link in internal and external stakeholders.
