The CSEF Coordinator supports schools to deliver the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund effectively by providing policy guidance, customer support, and operational assistance. This is a fixed term position to 31 December 2026.
About the Role
Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund Coordinator The purpose of the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) is to ensure a family's financial circumstances are not a barrier to student participation in key activities that enrich the school experience, such as camps, sporting activities, excursions and incursions. The CSEF Coordinator plays a key role in supporting schools to deliver the CSEF effectively and consistently. This role combines strong customer service and phone-based support with policy coordination responsibilities, including leading policy updates, improving guidance materials, and helping schools navigate operational requirements. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong judgement, a service mindset and the ability to turn policy into practical support.
Attributes
The main responsibilities of the CSEF Coordinator include:
• answering phone calls from schools about eligibility, application processing and use of CSEF funds
• providing advice on policy requirements and referring complex matters for further review where needed
• update policy guidance and FAQs ahead of each annual CSEF cycle
• prepare communications to remind schools of key dates, including application and processing deadlines
• identify common issues raised by schools to inform policy improvement
• support consistent implementation of policy across government and non-government school settings
• identify and escalate technical issues encountered during maintenance or upgrades
• coordinate testing and user acceptance following system upgrades.

About the Department

The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
