Details: The Director Clinical Practice is responsible for providing expert clinical, strategic and governance leadership to support student mental health, wellbeing and engagement across ACT public schools. Operating within a complex multidisciplinary environment, the position leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of evidence-informed policies, frameworks and clinical practice standards that strengthen service quality, consistency and outcomes for children and young people. The role contributes to the design and delivery of Directorate and whole-of-government priorities related to mental health, wellbeing, inclusion and early intervention, ensuring alignment with contemporary research, professional standards, legislative requirements and best-practice service delivery. The position manages complex, sensitive and high-risk cases requiring advanced clinical judgement and provides authoritative advice to senior executives on emerging issues, service responses and systemic risks affecting students and school communities. Working collaboratively across government, non-government and community sectors, the Director Clinical Practice leads governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities, while contributing to strategic reform initiatives, cross-government mental health strategies and service development projects. The role plays a key part in ensuring the Education Directorate delivers safe, effective and responsive clinical services that improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and their families. Eligibility/Other Requirements: • Relevant qualifications and registrations in Psychology or Social Work. • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. For further information refer to https://www.psychologyboard.gov.au/ OR eligibility for or membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers. • A minimum of four years, or equivalent, post-graduate experience. • Current driver’s licence is essential. • Prior to commencing in this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 will be required.
