EL2 ERP Procurement Specialist

Our client is a large and complex Australian Government organisation delivering critical services that support the operations of one of Australia’s key national institutions. They are embarking on a significant enterprise-wide technology transformation, modernising their core business systems to improve capability, efficiency and long-term sustainability. The Opportunity This is a unique opportunity to shape the procurement approach for a major ERP Modernisation Program. The program is upgrading the organisation’s core ERP platform from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA, alongside several supporting systems that form part of the broader enterprise technology landscape. Currently in the mobilisation phase, the program is progressing through iteration planning, with procurement activities expected to commence within the next six months. As the Procurement Specialist, you will have the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, develop the sourcing approach, and lead the procurement process for one of the organisation’s most significant technology investments. This is an initial six-month labour hire contract with a strong likelihood of extension for six months. The Role You will lead the development of the sourcing strategy that underpins the successful delivery of the program. Working closely with senior stakeholders, technical specialists and the central and ICT procurement teams, you will translate complex technology requirements into practical procurement activities. Your responsibilities will include: • Leading the development of the sourcing strategy for the ERP Modernisation Program • Developing plans and supporting documentation for the procurement of either an ERP implementation partner or SAP licensing. • Supporting the delivery of procurement activities through to market and contract award The Ideal Person You are a senior and experienced procurement professional with specialist skills in managing procurements involving ERP systems in a Commonwealth Government environment. You are comfortable operating strategically while also driving procurement activities through to completion. You will bring: • Demonstrated experience leading ERP procurement activities • Strong knowledge of SAP environments, ideally including SAP S/4HANA upgrade programs • Experience developing sourcing strategies for complex technology programs • The ability to understand the broader ERP ecosystem and identify procurement requirements across interconnected technologies • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical, commercial and business teams • Experience translating strategic procurement approaches into practical, achievable delivery plans To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and have a Baseline security clearance.
