The role Join the Waste Assets Management Corporation (WAMC) to monitor and manage complex environmental assets across NSW. In this role, you'll coordinate environmental monitoring programs, undertake site inspections and environmental assessments and contribute to regulatory reporting to ensure WAMC’s activities meet compliance and operational requirements. You'll work across a range of environmental disciplines, including landfill gas, groundwater, leachate and sustainability-related projects. Working in a dynamic environment, you'll collaborate with internal teams, contractors, consultants and government stakeholders to deliver scientifically sound outcomes, manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement across environmental systems, risk controls and compliance processes. For more information about this position, read the full Role Description: Environmental Officer What you will bring to the role • Environmental expertise in environmental monitoring, waste, contaminated land, remediation or landfill management. • Strong knowledge of environmental compliance, legislation, EPA licence and reporting requirements. • Project management and organisational skills to coordinate environmental monitoring programs, manage contractors and competing priorities. • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement across technical, operational and regulatory stakeholders. • Analytical problem-solving capability , to identify issues, assess risks and contribute practical solutions to environmental and operational challenges supported by relevant qualifications What is an essential requirement: • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, hydrogeology, soil science, geology or relevant discipline. • A current and valid NSW driver’s full license and ability to travel on sites within NSW.
