About this role

The EPSO provides comprehensive executive, project, and administrative support across the HSC unit to enable effective day to day operations and ensure organisational priorities and statutory obligations are delivered on time. It supports planning and coordination activities at the strategic, business, and operational levels, including the provision of confidential secretariat services, preparation and quality assurance of senior executive, departmental, and ministerial correspondence, and maintenance of accurate electronic records. The position monitors and reports on projects and initiatives, tracking progress against milestones, identifying risks and dependencies, and ensuring emerging issues are escalated as required.

The role also supports financial administration by assisting with the management and monitoring of the HSC budget, including expenditure tracking, reconciliations, and contribution to financial reporting processes. Through research, analysis, and sound judgement, the EPSO contributes to informed decision making and provides advice to staff and stakeholders. In addition, the position undertakes a broad range of administrative functions such as coordinating travel, meetings, events, and conferences, preparing and distributing internal and external communications, and delivering high quality executive support to the Director, HSC.

The role requires strong capability in using Microsoft applications and enterprise systems, including tools for document management, reporting, workflow, and data analysis. Familiarity with platforms such as Dynamics, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, OneDrive, and financial and record management systems is preferable. Demonstrated experience in providing executive and project support is highly desirable, along with experience coordinating travel arrangements, bookings, and events. Exposure to administrative support for budgets or financial portfolios, including basic financial tracking and reporting, will also be well regarded.
