About this role
This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas. Up for an exciting, new experience working in the spectacular Aussie Outback? • Great opportunity to join a supportive team and where you can make a real impact in providing the best patient experience. • Work with people where you will focus on fostering and building relationships with Aboriginal Communities, and work closely with key stakeholders, education, and training providers. • This role will give you the opportunity to grow and evolve, making a difference to the community, to educate and provide the best Aboriginal health outcomes What you'll be doing? • Unique opportunity to manage two small, remote health services - the Wilcannia Multi Purpose Service and White Cliffs Health Service • Work closely with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Aboriginal organisation Maari Ma • The Wilcannia Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) has a 24-hour 2 bed emergency department and 8 residential aged care beds • White Cliffs operates as a Primary Health Clinic with in hours emergency service and emergency services after hours on call • Lead and co-ordinate the nursing and multi-disciplinary care team • Monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes of the ward or unit. How to apply To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible: • Current nursing registration (as well preferably as a midwife) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) • Demonstrated recency of clinical competency/practice in the Emergency Department and Triage competent. • Postgraduate Tertiary Qualifications in Management and/or Leadership or working towards (Masters Level). • Demonstrated Leadership skills including conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation, and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and professional goals through recognised change management processes. • Proven ability to function effectively as part of a senior management team and to work successfully with other professions and disciplines in the management of health care services. • Broad clinical and operational management expertise at a senior level within a health care environment, including strategic planning, the development, implementation and evaluation of organisational Strategic & Business plans and Project management. • Demonstrated successful achievement in financial management and the ability to develop financial efficiency strategies and achieve goals. • Demonstrated understanding of the role, function & funding of public hospitals within the NSW and Australian Health systems.
