About this role

The IT Section delivers modern, secure, resilient, and user‐centred technology services that support Memorial operations, public‐facing digital services, and enterprise transformation. Under broad direction, the IT Applications Administrator is responsible for the operational support, administration and continual improvement of critical business applications, databases and cloud services. This position will work closely with business areas, technical specialists, and external partners to deliver high‐quality project outcomes aligned with organisational strategy, whole‐of‐government requirements, and industry best practice. The IT Applications Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, maintenance and continual improvement of key enterprise and collection-related business applications. This includes the Memorial's Collection Management System (CMS), Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), and associated integrations, databases and cloud services. The role works closely with business stakeholders, vendors and technical teams to ensure applications remain secure, available, supported and aligned with business requirements. • Administer, support and continuously improve the Memorial's business application portfolio, including Collection Management Systems (CMS), Digital Asset Management Systems (DAMS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms and associated integrations. • Act as the technical custodian for designated business applications, including vendor engagement, application configuration, release management, lifecycle planning, operational support, installation, monitoring and maintenance; • Manage integrations and data flows between business applications, databases, cloud services and enterprise platforms; • Ensure business applications are maintained in accordance with the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Memorial security requirements; • Document software applications and associated support procedures, including the development and maintenance of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes such as standard changes, incident management and problem management; • Coordinate and oversee application, database and supporting infrastructure upgrades in accordance with the Information Security Manual (ISM) and vendor best practice; and • Report on progress of operational issues to senior management, end users and stakeholders. Technical Knowledge and Skills • Demonstrated technical skills with one or more of: • Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server and database administration; • Application administration and support; • Piction or equivalent Digital Asset Management Systems (DAMS); • MuseumPlus or equivalent Collection Management Systems (CMS); • PowerShell scripting and automation; and • Application integration and data migration activities. • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services including Microsoft Entra ID, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, Azure Key Vault, application integrations, authentication, identity management and security controls.
