About this role

• Baseline Security Clearance required • EL1 equivalent role • Canberra or remote | 14th September start Our client, a newly formed Government Organisation, whose focus in to project Australia's natural environment and heritage sites as well as our response to climate change and water / energy resources, require the services of Multiple Lead Senior Data Engineers. Duties of the Lead Senior Data Engineers: • Translate Solution Architect direction into detailed data platform design and ensure scalable, governable and fit-for-purpose within Azure cloud-native environments; • Design, document and implement end-to-end data solutions across ingestion, storage, transformation, cleansing and consumption layers; • Analyse and refactor legacy schemas, business logic and stored procedures for cloud-native implementation • Modernise and optimise data models for Delta Lake, including structured and semi-structured data Skills required: • Demonstrated experience leading the design, delivery and optimisation of enterprise-scale data platforms, including translating architectural direction into implementable data solutions and providing hands-on technical leadership across the full lifecycle. Advocate for team priorities as pertains to data solutions\environments in cross disciplinary forums. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; • Strong expertise in Azure Databricks (Spark, PySpark, workflows), Azure Data Factory (ADF) for orchestration and Delta Lake, with proven ability to design, build and optimise scalable, high-performance data pipelines in cloud-native environments. • Proven experience designing and implementing modern data architectures and warehouse solutions (e.g. medallion, Kimball, Data Vault), including dimensional modelling and supporting complex analytical and reporting workloads. • Experience migrating legacy SQL Server/SSIS/SSAS environments to Azure platforms, including re-engineering schemas, business logic and ETL processes while ensuring data integrity, reconciliation and continuity.
