About the role

Working as part of a dedicated mechanical trades team, you will undertake a broad range of maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and testing activities that support the delivery of frontline healthcare services. This hands-on role involves working on a diverse range of systems and equipment, including air conditioning and chilled water systems, pumps, compressors, central vacuum systems, sterilisation equipment, building services infrastructure and other critical hospital assets.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• At the direction of trade mechanical supervisory staff, maintain, install, commission, and test mechanical air conditioning, pumps, compressors, central vacuum, sterilisation equipment, kitchen, building services and other health facility systems within the Departments responsibility area.

• Perform maintenance and repairs on hospital equipment and machinery to ensure their optimal functioning. This includes providing work service or feedback reports, ensuring deadlines, specifications and quality standards are met.

• Collaborate with other staff to address equipment-related concerns and provide technical support as required.

• Carry out rostered after hours call out duties, reasonable overtime work and other work as directed by supervisory staff. The work environment can be anywhere within the Departments responsibility work

• Stand in for absent supervisory and other department staff for short time periods.
