About us:

Across Central Queensland, specialist mental health and alcohol and other drug services support more than 250,000 people across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana. With services delivered throughout the region, teams provide a range of care including assessment, treatment, case management, support, consultation and referrals.

Rockhampton is the principal service centre, with acute adult inpatient services and an Adult Community Care Unit, while Gladstone offers an integrated service supporting adults, children and young people, alongside alcohol and other drug services and a Step-Up Step-Down Unit. Working closely with hospitals, health providers and community organisations, teams help people navigate their care, support recovery and improve their wellbeing.

About the role:

• Provide specialist mental health assessment and care by completing mental state and risk assessments, developing care plans and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

• Support consumers through their recovery journey with case management, early identification and intervention, health promotion, education, consultation and liaison with families, carers and other services.

• Strengthen clinical practice and service quality through professional development, clinical and peer supervision, data collection, use of clinical indicators and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

• Share knowledge and build capability by providing professional supervision and guidance to students and less experienced staff, with support from senior clinicians.

About you:

• Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following: Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work.

• A base level of knowledge, expertise and skill in delivery of adult mental health services; Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable.

• A high level of effective interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills with the ability to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to provide guidance to less experienced staff members and education to students in adult mental health.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.

• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
