About this role

Supports and provides collaborative, appropriate, proficient, coordinated direct and indirect clinical care for complex client presentations, including working with and alongside less experienced nursing and midwifery staff, within the specialty area. As a member of a multi-disciplinary forensic mental health team, the position will work across prison, hospital, court, and community settings to provide expert mental health assessment, treatment, and consultancy services in respect to individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Engagement with clients, carer’s, clinical team members and multiple stakeholders will ensure high-quality holistic care for people with a mental illness. A recognised mental health qualification and eligibility to practice as a Designated Mental Health Practitioner under the NT Mental Health Act is required to fulfil the inherent requirements of this position. Whilst a postgraduate qualification is an essential requirement for ongoing appointment to this vacancy, all applicants will be assessed. If the most suitable applicant does not hold the qualification, they may be appointed on a fixed basis with ongoing appointment subject to attaining the qualification during the fixed term. One vacancy is available, either ongoing or fixed for 18 months.
