About this role

This rewarding role leads the public realm planning, policy development, strategies and review of council’s long term Capital Works Program for Public Realm projects. The primary focus of the position is to develop strategies and policies relating to open space and key urban infrastructure. The role ensures the delivery and implementation of actions from council’s strategies including open space, environment and transport and leads council’s program of open space conversions. Key responsibilities include the strategic review of documents, scope development and forward planning for council’s capital works program to guide council’s long term financial plan. This role is the department lead for planning referrals, councillor and customer requests and construction development advice, including the development of streetscape style guides and developer design standards. Key Responsibilities: • Review policies and strategies to develop actions from council’s strategic documents, including but not limited to Open Space Strategy, Environment Strategy, Transport Strategy and Flood Management Strategy. • Develop strategies and policies as required to guide improvements to Stonnington’s public realm and open space • Provide project management services including scope, cost, budget, timing and project reporting. • Lead procurement and contract management services. • Coordinate multidisciplinary design professionals to deliver public realm projects. • Work collaboratively with the City Projects teams to provide sound and professional advice in landscape architecture and urban design matters. • Assist in the delivery of professional and competent Urban Design and Landscape Architectural services to internal departments and management. • Provide advice on landscape planning and design to support Council and private development projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and best practice principles • Drive continuous improvement in project management capability and maturity across the organisation. • Support project managers and departments in delivering capital programs, ensuring adherence to best practices and Council’s Project Management Framework. Join us in this full-time permanent role, offering a competitive salary range of $113,974 - $126,589 plus 12% superannuation and a monthly accrued day off.
