About this role

The Program Advisor supports the delivery of programs and initiatives within the Internationalising Education Unit, part of the International Education and Partnerships Division. The primary focus of this fixed term role (0.8 Full Time Equivalent) is to contribute to the design and delivery of student programs that support Global Learning and Engagement. The role is available from 9 August 2026 until 30 June 2027. About the Department The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres. About the Division The International Education and Partnership Division (IEPD) provides strategic advice and sector-level support for some of the department's key functions and obligations in relation to international education, the non-government school sector and the use of animals in teaching. The division develops and maintains strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders in different education sectors and levels of government and carries out regulatory functions and responsibilities under various Acts to ensure compliance in Victorian schools. About the Role The Program Advisor supports the delivery of programs and initiatives within the Internationalising Education Unit, part of the International Education and Partnerships Division. The primary focus of this fixed term role (0.8 Full Time Equivalent) is to contribute to the design and delivery of student programs that support Global Learning and Engagement. The role is available from 9 August 2026 until 30 June 2027. Key responsibilities include: • Managing contracts with the external providers • Working collaboratively across teams and divisions to design Global Learning initiatives • Processing invoices • Responding to queries from schools and international partners particularly around Sister School partnerships • Using data to identify and encourage new Sister School partnerships and global learning initiatives • Sourcing case studies and securing permission to capture stories from school leaders Strong written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. The role also requires strong organisational skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. A sound understanding of school operations, relevant policies, and partnership models is highly desirable.
