Program Manager

About this role

What you'll do

As the Program Manager, you will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of complex statewide programs and priority initiatives, ensuring performance is achieved against project plans, schedules and strategic objectives through the application of contemporary program and project management methodologies. You will oversee program governance, manage resources and budgets, monitor risks, maintain reporting and evaluation frameworks, and drive the successful implementation of community-led service co-design initiatives in partnership with Midwifery leadership. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including First Nations peoples and organisations, you will foster effective communication, provide expert advice on policy, legislative and regulatory matters to senior executives and government representatives, and ensure alignment across related nursing and midwifery initiatives. Your ability to build strong relationships, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality reports, briefings and correspondence will be essential in advancing key maternity and health workforce priorities across Queensland.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

• Proven high level communication skills including excellent stakeholder relationship management and negotiation skills to facilitate and support program outcomes, especially support program development activities for co-design success.

• High level experience collaborating across multidisciplinary services and with key partners to deliver major midwifery and maternity reform.

• Well-developed program management knowledge and skills, including high level ability in the areas of planning, defining project tasks, setting priorities, managing and coordinating resources inclusive of schedules, resources, contracts, budget and financial management.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex priority projects within competing timeframes to ensure the delivery of agreed program outcomes.

• Demonstrated experience in leading a program of related projects through all phases of the project life cycle, applying program management and change management methodologies.

• Proven effective high-level written communication skills to ensure high quality program documentation, accurate reporting. and provision of complex sensitive advice to Government.

• Proven experience communicating sensitively and working with First Nation's peoples and organisations with ability to understand cultural and other complex issues relating to maternity services.
