The Opportunity:

Work Type : Casual- hours range from 7.30am to 6.00pm weekdays during school holidays

Pay rate: $39.91-$42 per hour including 25% casual loading

Eaton Recreation Centre is seeking fun, energetic individuals, who are creative and passionate about child development. You are enthusiastic about providing a mix of activities for 5–12-year-olds to help develop social and life skills, being active and healthy, and learning through play, will ensure an engaging holiday program for participants. About Eaton Recreation Centre

At Eaton Recreation Centre we are developing a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence. Our focus is to enrich community health, fitness and well-being through inclusive recreational activities, that foster social connections. The Shire of Dardanup facility offers a 24-7 gym, group fitness studio and virtual cycle studio, children’s programs (including Creche and Vacation Care Holiday program), Cafe, plus a Stadium featuring 3 multi-purpose courts used for sports hire, competitions, clubs, associations, and elite level competition (Southwest Slammers and Souwest Jets).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing leadership and direction within the Vacation Care Program and ensuring effective channels of communication with staff and patrons.

• Supervising children and children’s programs ensuring that all rules and regulations are adhered to as a licensed program.

• Supervising the Vacation Care Holiday program, running activities, supporting other staff and engaging children.

• Contributing to the planning, preparation, review and implementation of the Vacation Care program and activities, ensuring highest standards.

• Following child safe practices to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, whilst promoting fun

• Providing a positive experience by engaging children, building and maintaining rapport and encouraging participation.

To become our next Qualified Vacation Care Leader, you will have:

• A qualification in Children’s studies, Education (50% complete) or similar Cert III or higher

• Current Working with Children

• Current First aid and CPR

• Experience supervising, programming and running activities for children aged 5-12 years old

• Availability during school holidays

• A positive, friendly and energetic attitude

• A passion for child development: social and life skills, improving community members health and wellbeing.

• Ability to work unsupervised

• Drive to deliver our service vision “exceptional service, every customer, every interaction”.

• Possess developed interpersonal and communication skills, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
