About this role

Join our team as a Ranger on Mulgumpin (Moreton Island), helping care for lands owned by the Quandamooka People, who have entrusted a significant portion of their lands to be managed as Gheebulum Kunungai National Park. This park is jointly managed with the Quandamooka Peoples, represented by Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC). As second in charge, you’ll support the QPWS Ranger in Charge with projects and administrative systems, collaborate with QYAC Joint Management Rangers on pest, weed, and fire management programs, and protect the park’s natural and cultural values. You’ll monitor, and address compliance matters in a busy visitor location, especially during weekends and holidays, requiring autonomy and sound judgment. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with on-island stakeholders and coordinating emergency responses with other agencies.
