About the Role A School Administrative Officer provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities, including but not limited to the following school settings: the office, sick bay, library, science laboratory, and food technology/kitchen areas. Essential Requirements • Working with Children Check Clearance • First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training. • Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs. The Rivers Secondary College, Richmond River High Campus, located in the Lismore township, has an enrolment of 479 students, including 101 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students and is focused on working with a diverse community to build student engagement through the implementation of quality programs, teaching and wellbeing initiatives. The Campus' vision of "inspired learning for lifelong success" is fundamental to its values of high expectations, collaboration, inclusivity and respectfulness and is the basis for continuing to build the capacity of staff in their endeavour to provide quality teaching and learning practices. The Rivers Secondary College identifies as the ‘heart of secondary education in Lismore.’ The College structure comprises of three campuses, Richmond River High, Lismore High and Kadina High with a common focus on sharing resources in order to provide improved educational outcomes for students. • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team. • Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office. • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to work with teachers and students. • Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and /or design and technology; science.
