About this role
This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.
Who We Are:
Miles State School was established in 1880, and is home to students from both the town of Miles, and surrounding rural areas in the Miles District.
Miles is a vibrant growing district in the Western Downs Regional Council area, supporting a wide range of industries.
Cattle grazing, grain and cotton farming, feedlots, forestry and sawmilling, coal and coal seam gas exploration and distribution and bentonite mining all co-exist within the surrounds of the township.
Our school motto of 'Strive to achieve' is pertinent to our curriculum which has been designed to enhance both the needs of the community and the individual student.
Step Into Your Next Chapter:
• As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of Miles State School by providing a high level of grounds and facilities.
• You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.
• As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will not be required to perform any task or repairs that would normally require the services of a qualified tradesperson.
• The position reports directly to the Principal, and Business Manager.
