About the Department The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres. About the Division The Financial Services Division is responsible for designing and implementing financial management principles. The division operates on three levels to fulfil its responsibilities: • strategic level, to support decision-making • monitor and check our control, assurance and governance arrangements to ensure compliance with legislation and standards • operational level, to provide support and service delivery. About the Role To excel in this Senior Financial Advisor role within the Financial Services Division, you must be able to understand the complexities of Government and Non-Government (Independent/Catholic) school funding models and providing analysis that will directly influence policy and resource allocation. This role also requires an ability to balance policy shifts, immediate operational demands, and long-term financial modelling. Attributes To succeed as an initiative-taking member of the team working under strict deadlines in this role you must be able to transition from a reactive data processor to an autonomous strategic driver. Desirable Qualifications and Experience A relevant degree in fields such as accounting, finance, actuarial science, data science, business analytics, or statistics. 3-5 years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
