• Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of submissions, reports, briefing materials, and correspondence on budget and financial issues such as the Health Ombudsman's annual budget submission.

• Coordinate and conduct the financial activities, systems, and record keeping of the OHO including monthly business reports, journals, general ledger reconciliations and maintenance, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable while ensuring ledger integrity.

• Assist the Finance Manager with the Annual Financial Statements and external audits with the Queensland Audit Office.

• Prepare and submit monthly Payroll Tax returns, quarterly Long Service Leave and Annual Leave returns, quarterly Business Activity Statements and Annual Fringe Benefits Tax return.

• Prepare and submit Queensland Treasury reporting (both actual and budget submissions) and assist with the preparation of State Budget Papers.

• Applications will remain current for a period of up to 12 months and may be considered for other vacancies (identical or similar).

• Appointments are subject to criminal history checks in accordance with section 52 of the Public Sector Act 2022 .

• Prior to appointment, current and previous public sector employees are required to disclose any history of serious disciplinary action in accordance with section 71 of the Public Sector Act 2022 .

• All employees are required to disclose any interest/s that conflict, may conflict or may be perceived to conflict with the discharge of their duties in accordance with section 89, 182 or 183 of the Public Sector Act 2022 .
