About the Role

Crown Law's Commercial and Governance Team provides expert legal services on a wide range of commercial and governmental matters, including procurement, government funding, legislative compliance and corporate governance matters.

As Senior Principal Lawyer, you will primarily deliver advisory work on a variety of commercial and governmental matters, including government contracts, legislative compliance, information privacy and corporate governance matters. You will also draft tailored funding agreements, inter-governmental agreements, and commercial arrangements. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team including experts in commercial and governance law and intellectual property law, and contribute to mentoring staff and fostering a collaborative culture. Flexible working arrangements, including part-time options, are available.

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland (or eligibility for admission).

• Substantial post-admission experience in commercial, compliance or governance law, with demonstrated strengths in advisory work.

• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following:

• Advising on legislative compliance, information privacy or corporate governance.

• Drafting commercial contracts.

• Drafting and advising on government funding agreements.

• Other areas of law for the team as outlined in the role description under the heading ‘About the team'.

• The ability to manage complex and sensitive matters.

• A background in government legal teams or private practice with public sector clients is welcomed.

Remuneration and appointment level will be considered in line with the successful candidate's relevant post-admission experience, technical expertise, and demonstrated capability.
