About the Opportunity
As the Senior Safety Advisor, you will actively participate in teams and projects to undertake analysis, design, review and implementation of infrastructure safety related business activities, systems, policies, projects and programs of work.
About You:
The Senior Safety Advisor will:
• Provide comprehensive, field-based safety advice and support and collaborate with departmental staff in schools, regional and central offices.
• Participate in teams involved in the formulation of workable solutions for infrastructure safety related issues that align to legislation and industry standards.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external networks to support departmental responses to safety issues and promote a best practice approach through assisting to implement consistent processes.
• Provide specialist safety advice, information and support services across a broad range of infrastructure safety issues, with a strong focus on the provision of advice resulting in continuous improvement to staff in schools, regions and the wider community.
• Participate in project teams for the development, implementation, maintenance and review of programs, policies and procedures, to support the strategic direction of the department for a range of infrastructure and planning related issues.
Our ideal applicant will possess the following attributes:
• A current driver's license is mandatory as travel and overnight travel is a requirement of the role. Travel outside the region may be required.
• You will also hold a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services), a mandatory requirement for this role.
• An infrastructure safety background or safety background and/or relevant qualifications, and a commitment to providing a positive contribution to our team culture.
