About this role

About us:

Central Queensland Child and Family Health provides child-centred, family-focused care across regional, rural and coastal communities. The service supports families through health promotion, education, developmental monitoring, early identification and intervention, and care coordination, while helping parents and carers build confidence and strengthen relationships with their children.

Care is delivered flexibly across homes, clinics, hospitals, schools and community settings through face-to-face, telephone and telehealth services. This position provides professional and clinical support to Child and Family Health teams across CQHHS, with travel to regional and rural communities an important part of the role.

About the role:

• Deliver complex psychosocial assessments, counselling, advocacy and support to children, families and carers, using independent professional judgement across a varied caseload.

• Assess and manage complex issues including child safety, domestic and sexual violence, homelessness, mental illness, alcohol and other drug use, vulnerability and unsafe living environments.

• Advocate for equitable access to internal and external services including allied health, education, financial, accommodation, legal and interpreter services, while supporting parenting capacity and family wellbeing.

• Work closely with Nursing, Allied Health, Child Health and Paediatric teams to coordinate care, improve service pathways and contribute to multidisciplinary case conferences and team decision-making.

About you:

• Hold a degree qualification in Social Work from a recognised tertiary institution and eligibility for professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

• Strong social work knowledge and experience working with children and families, including complex psychosocial assessments and interventions.

• Ability to confidently manage complex situations and caseloads, develop appropriate interventions and provide expert advice on challenging psychosocial issues.

• High-level communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, advocate for social work and provide professional advice to colleagues.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $78,679 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.

• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
