About the Department The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres. The 2024 Education State priorities sets the vision for the Victorian Education System, to deliver excellence in every classroom, in every corner of the state. About the Division Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Division (SSPRD). The SSPRD was established to lead a generational reform agenda in response to the 2020 Review into Vocational and Applied Learning Pathways in Senior Secondary Schooling . These reforms will collectively support all Victorian secondary students to pursue high-quality and valued vocational pathways aligned to their strengths and interests and to finish schooling with the skills and capabilities they need for success in further education, training, work, and life. The Senior Secondary Pathways Reform agenda is a high priority for the government. The SSPRD engages regularly with the Minister for Education and critical education, training, industry and community stakeholders. About the Role The Technology Advisor is a platform support role and leads the support and enhancement of the Career and Pathways Platform. This is an established role and works closely with school staff, primarily Career Practitioners, regional staff, program area staff and technology support within the Department. This is a fixed term position until December 2027. The Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Taskforce is reforming the delivery of senior secondary education in Victoria. As part of that reform, there is a significant requirement to develop new technology to digitise and standardise processes in schools and ensure technology is an enabler of reform. SSPRD is investing heavily in technology programs to support schools and requires a Technology Advisor to provide support to end users and lead enhancement development based on user feedback and experience. The role requires a breadth of skills, particularly in stakeholder management and relationship building. This is a support role that supports both internal corporate staff and school staff and works in partnership with the department's IT division to ensure ongoing use of the platform and responsiveness to needs of users. The ability to communicate clearly and engage with a range of different people is essential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with both technical and process support capabilities, to work in a dynamic, reform focused environment. Desirable Qualifications and Experience A tertiary degree in a related field or relevant experience is desirable.
