About this role

About the Team

The Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (QCPIMH) aims to support parents, caregivers and communities to have the confidence, knowledge, skills and resources to support their own wellbeing and raise emotionally healthy and resilient children. QCPIMH brings perinatal and infant mental health needs to the attention of policy and decision makers, and the general community, to improve the emotional wellbeing of all Queensland parents, infants and young children, and families.

QCPIMH has a clinical and strategic unit. The 0-4 CYMHS delivers infant mental health multidisciplinary clinical services to the north and south Brisbane CHQ CYMHS catchment area. A volunteer Family Support Service provides early years family support to families where there is a risk of children entering or re-entering the child protection system. The Strategy Unit works to strengthen the state-wide Queensland perinatal and infant mental health service system, by building cross sector networks across public, private, non-government, peer led, First Nations, education, and research organisations. The Strategy Unit within the QCPIMH has five strategic priorities: Service development and implementation, Workforce development, Mental health promotion and prevention, Research and evaluation, and Advocacy.

The QCPIMH Clinical and Strategy Units also work in an integrated manner and contribute knowledge, information and skills, to each unit's work priorities where necessary as part of progressing the vision of the Centre.
