As a Vegetation Maintenance Officer, you'll enjoy a varied and active role working across some of the city's most beautiful locations while helping create safe, attractive and well-maintained public spaces for our community to enjoy. Every day brings something different as you work alongside a supportive team committed to caring for our natural environment and enhancing community spaces. This exciting role will: • Maintain vegetation and natural assets across Lake Macquarie • Operate and undertake minor maintenance of plant and equipment • Work as part of a team delivering high-quality services to the community • Follow safe work practices, environmental controls and operational procedures • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, visitors and stakeholders • Contribute to continuous improvement and promote Council in a positive way Read the position statement here and learn more about this exciting opportunity. LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work and values being part of a team that makes a positive contribution to the community. • Demonstrated interest or industry experience in vegetation maintenance • The ability to perform duties in a reliable and enthusiastic manner • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment • A commitment to providing high-level customer service • Good literacy, numeracy and computer skills • A General Construction Induction Training Card recognised by SafeWork NSW • A current Class C driver's licence LET’S REVEAL THE PERKS This position provides: • Competitive salary from $61,469 to $71,438 per year + 12% superannuation • Enterprise Agreement pay increases apply • Commencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range • 35-hour working week, 4-day week • Long service leave after 5 years • Education assistance • Training and development opportunities • Corporate fitness program from as little as $8 per week • Click here to view more perks!
