About the role

There are more than 400 Class B cemetery trusts across metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria. Cemetery trusts are public boards that manage public cemeteries and deliver services with care and compassion. They respect the cultural and religious values of the community and preserve the history of our cemeteries for future generations. Everything you need to get started will be provided, including free governance training. As a cemetery trust member, you’ll gain skills in: • strategic thinking • leadership • communication • governance • problem solving • risk management • finance • stakeholder management.

You’ll also: • build social skills and new relationships with members of the board and the community • provide an essential service to the community • play an important role in preserving cemeteries and local history.
