As the Waste Services Coordinator, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of Council's waste services, ensuring reliable, safe and efficient service delivery across Liverpool Plains Shire. This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on operational leadership with strategic thinking. You'll oversee Council's Waste Management Facilities, including landfill and transfer stations, coordinate waste collection services, manage contractor performance and lead a small team. You'll play an important role in shaping the future of waste management across the Shire. From managing budgets and ensuring regulatory compliance to supporting community education programs and driving continuous improvement initiatives, you'll help deliver innovative and sustainable waste solutions that benefit both the environment and the community. This position offers an attractive salary ranging from $87,344 to $111,810 gross per annum, plus superannuation (12 per cent), with commencing salary dependant on qualifications, skills, qualifications and experience. What you’ll bring to our team To thrive in this role, you’ll need: • Certificate III in Waste Management, Environmental Science or any other qualifications relevant to this position or equivalent additional industry experience. • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with customers, contractors and the general public, including written and verbal communication. • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and act on own initiative. • Experience with the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word and Excel, as well as experience with other waste record keeping databases. • Demonstrated ability to research and prepare correspondence and reports at an intermediate level. • Working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities set out in the Work Health and Safety Act and the principles of equal employment opportunity. • Ability to plan, organise, set priorities and manage time, to ensure organisational resources are optimised, and objectives are achieved within an agreed timeline. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in interpreting test results and data, recognising the significance of deviations or abnormalities, and choosing an appropriate course of action to address any identified issues or concerns. • Experience in budget preparation, monitoring and review. • Experience in promoting positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution, including providing feedback through performance evaluations.
