Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Position Classification: Counsellor Level 1 / 2, Psychologist, Social Worker Level 1 / 2 Remuneration: Dependent on Qualifications · Counsellor & Social Worker Level 1 / 2 - $79,419 - $113,301 per annum · Psychologist - $83,670 - $122,465 per annum Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours) Location: Western Area Adolescent Team Where you'll be working Western Sydney Local Health District's Youth Health Service is dedicated to improving health outcomes for young people aged 12-24 years, with a strong focus on those experiencing disadvantage, homelessness, social isolation, vulnerability or complex life challenges. Based within the Western Area Adolescent Team, you'll join a passionate multidisciplinary team committed to delivering accessible, inclusive and client-centred care. Our team fosters a collaborative, supportive and innovative environment where clinicians are empowered to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families. · Work alongside experienced multidisciplinary professionals in youth health · Support one of Western Sydney's most vulnerable and diverse populations · Be part of a service committed to trauma-informed and culturally responsive care · Develop strong partnerships with community agencies and healthcare providers · Contribute to innovative programs that improve youth health outcomes What you'll be doing As a Youth Health Counsellor, you will deliver evidence-based psychosocial and therapeutic interventions to young people aged 12-24 years and their significant others. Working within a primary health care framework, you will engage young people experiencing complex and often challenging circumstances, supporting them to achieve improved health and wellbeing outcomes. · Provide therapeutic counselling, brief interventions, case management and psychosocial support · Conduct assessments and facilitate access to appropriate internal and external services · Collaborate with young people, families and service providers to develop and review care plans · Advocate for vulnerable and marginalised young people and promote equitable access to healthcare · Deliver health promotion, education and group-based programs while contributing to service development How to Apply Apply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date. Essential Criteria: · Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline · Registration: Registration with AHPRA as per requirements Selection Criteria: 1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field with registration through AHPRA or respective professional body. 2. Experience working with and understanding of the issues affecting marginalised young people’s access to health services. 3. 3Demonstrated experience in the delivery of therapeutic interventions to marginalised young people, with a focus on trauma informed practice. 4. Demonstrated experience in provision of brief intervention and crisis counselling with at risk young people. 5. Excellent communication and networking skills, and demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team 6. Excellent computer skills with experience in a range of Microsoft applications. 7. Demonstrated ability to engage with marginalised and at risk young people both individually and in a group setting. 8. Current NSW drivers licence and willingness to use for work purpose.
