About this role

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas. About Wilcannia Wilcannia is a small, primarily Aboriginal community in far west NSW situated on the banks of the Darling River. Once a busy river port, the town is full of history and heritage listed buildings. The outdoor cinema, music festivals and a bunch of local sporting opportunities including tennis, golf, lawn bowls and footy will keep you busy. In the heart of the Aussie Outback, life in Wilcannia is quiet, clean and beautiful. The Wilcannia Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) has a 24-hour 2 bed emergency department and 8 residential aged care beds. Wilcannia MPS has been providing care to the local community for over 140 years. How to apply To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible: * Certificate III in Business administration and/or experience providing administration support, preferably within a healthcare setting. * Demonstrated computer/data entry skills, specifically with MS office products in particular Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet based applications and databases and experience in cash management, collection of fees and processing of accounts. * Proficient organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and the ability to exercise basic problem solving skills using reference to established methods and procedures. * Proficient interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently and courteously with people at all levels. * Capacity to work under broad supervision and ability to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team and understanding of cultural awareness issues and the need for cultural sensitivity. * The ability to travel when required within the Far West Local Health District facilities.
