It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.   The Ambulatory Care Business Unit (ACBU) provides a centralised administrative workforce structure across a variety of RPAH outpatient clinics. The purpose of the ACBU is to ensure centralised processes amongst our outpatient services and to support our staff in providing the best care for our patients.

Administrative Officers are often the first point of contact for patients, families and their carers in an outpatient setting. Administrative Officer roles within ACBU are responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service, administrative support and actively contributing to a positive experience for our patients and visitors.

We require a highly adaptable Administrative Officer who can work confidently across multiple clinics, quickly learn new processes, and integrate smoothly into different teams. The ideal candidate is flexible with changing priorities and work hours, resilient in fast‑paced environments, and able to provide consistent, high‑quality administrative support where needed.   For more information, please view the  Position Description .   Ideal Candidate • Customer service experience, with the ability to apply a high level of emotional intelligence when supporting patients, families, and clinical staff. • Administrative experience with proven capability in performing clerical duties accurately and efficiently in a busy healthcare environment. • Practical understanding of Medicare billing processes within a public hospital setting, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume outpatient environment, maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and composure under pressure. • Flexibility to work across multiple RPA outpatient clinics, adapting to varying clinic needs, schedules, and team environments. • Fast learner with strong computer literacy, able to confidently navigate and learn multiple clinical and administrative systems to perform daily duties.
