About the role Advance your training in Sexual Health Medicine or Addiction Medicine while delivering high-quality, compassionate care to communities who may experience barriers to mainstream health services. Join the multidisciplinary team at the Kirketon Road Centre and gain broad clinical experience across primary care, sexual health, HIV, viral hepatitis, addiction medicine and harm reduction. This position is accredited for core training by the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine (AChSHM, RACP), the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine (AChAM, RACP) and the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM, RACP). Where you’ll be working The Kirketon Road Centre (KRC) is a specialised, multidisciplinary primary healthcare service based in Kings Cross. KRC provides accessible, person-centred healthcare to priority populations, including people experiencing homelessness, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people who inject drugs, people engaged in sex work, young people experiencing vulnerability, and LGBTQI+ communities. You will join a highly skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team with a strong culture of social justice, harm reduction, collaboration, teaching and innovation. The position offers broad clinical exposure, structured supervision and opportunities to participate in education, research, clinical audit and quality improvement. KRC forms part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services, which also include Sydney Sexual Health Centre, The Albion Centre and Short Street Centre. The position is based at KRC, with opportunities to collaborate with other SHBBV services and, where required, work across other sites to support broad clinical exposure and training. * MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. * Demonstrated recent relevant experience in clinical medicine and ability to work in a complex clinical environment, consisting of at least three years of recent postgraduate clinical experience. * Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills in dealings with patients, team members and supervisors * Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, teaching, research, and quality improvement. * Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills in a clinical setting within a multidisciplinary team * Proven ability to apply clinical knowledge and concepts in practical situations in the context of multiple competing priorities * Commitment to Primary Health Care and harm reduction philosophies. * The Kirketon Road Centre is a walk in service serving a marginalised population, the successful applicant will be prepared to work in a safe yet sometimes unpredictable and volatile environment.
