About the Role: An exciting opportunity within a Queensland State Government Department has become available for an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the delivery of estimating services across a diverse portfolio of building projects. This role combines technical estimating expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing a team of Estimators and support staff while ensuring the delivery of accurate, compliant and commercially competitive estimates for medium to high-risk and complex construction projects. You'll play a key role in supporting project planning, procurement and delivery while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and clients. Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Senior Estimator, you will: • Lead, mentor and support a team of Estimators and support staff. • Prepare accurate construction estimates and quotation documentation for building projects. • Manage the delivery of estimating programs and projects, particularly those that are complex or high-risk. • Ensure compliance with the State Purchasing Policy, Minor Works framework, procurement requirements and relevant contract methods. • Contribute to project planning, budgeting, estimating methodologies and procurement improvements. • Monitor and report on estimating performance, including workload, project volumes, acceptance rates, productivity, costs and margins. • Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing timely, professional and commercially competitive estimating services. • Promote a safe and positive workplace while managing staff performance and development. About YouTo be successful in this role, you'll bring: • Extensive experience preparing construction estimates within the building industry. • Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring estimating teams. • Strong knowledge of construction procurement, tendering processes and contract delivery. • The ability to manage multiple estimating projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving capability. • A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and continuous improvement.
