The Opportunity Opportunities are available for experienced APS4 and APS5 HR / Payroll Officers to join a busy and supportive People and Culture team. These roles will suit candidates who are currently working within the APS and bring recent experience across HR administration, payroll processes, workforce support and recruitment activities. You will have the opportunity to contribute immediately, using your knowledge of APS processes and systems to provide high-quality support to employees and managers. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will play an important role in ensuring accurate workforce administration, effective HR service delivery and positive employee experiences. These opportunities are available through both labour hire and non-ongoing engagement arrangements. The RoleYou will provide reliable and accurate HR and payroll support, working closely with stakeholders to deliver effective workforce services. As an APS4, your responsibilities will include: • Providing HR and payroll administration support within an APS environment • Assisting with employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding and maintaining accurate records • Supporting payroll-related activities and respond to employee enquiries • Assisting with recruitment and workforce administration activities • Using HR systems and processes to ensure information is maintained accurately and efficiently As an APS5, your responsibilities will include: • Delivering HR and payroll administration support • Supporting recruitment activities, including coordination through eRecruit or similar recruitment systems • Providing advice and assistance to managers and employees on workforce administration matters • Managing competing priorities while working independently and delivering quality outcomes • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to effective HR service delivery The Ideal Person You are a current APS HR professional who enjoys working in a role where your skills and knowledge can have an immediate impact. You bring recent experience supporting HR and payroll processes within the APS and understand the importance of delivering accurate, timely and customer-focused services. For the APS4 level, you will have experience across HR administration, payroll processes or workforce support and a genuine interest in continuing to develop your APS HR career. For the APS5 level, you will bring demonstrated experience across payroll and/or workforce administration, recruitment support and the ability to confidently manage competing priorities. You are organised, adaptable and proactive, with the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Experience using eRecruit and Aurion will be highly regarded.
