About the role The Finance Officer contributes to the delivery of a high-volume, transactional financial support service to schools and preschools. The role is responsible for supporting core financial administration activities within the School and Preschool Financial Accounting (SPFA) team, with a focus on master data management, financial authorisation processing, and responding to taxation-related administration queries. This role supports compliance with departmental financial governance frameworks by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial records within the Education Management System (EMS/Civica). Qualifications Essential: Nil. Desirable: A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related discipline. Completion or study towards membership of a professional accounting body or equivalent. Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
