The Central Sterilising Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Assistant in Nursing to join their team on a casual basis.

Your opportunity

The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) assists and supports the Registered Nurse (RN) in the provision of direct/indirect person-centred care. The AIN is responsible for providing nursing care in a professional, safe and compassionate manner according to their education and competence. An AIN in the CSD will be required to ensure RMD's are safe for patient care.

About the Team

The Central Sterilising Department (CSD) IS utilised by multiple units within MBH & MHHS hospitals, community services and clinics. Our CSD sterilising practice is guided by Australia and New Zealand Standard 4187, Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and Sterilising Research Advisory Council Australia (SRACA). While CSD is not involved in direct patient care, our CSD has a high level of processes and responsibility to ensure Reusable Medical Devices (RMDs) are safe for patient care.
