Your Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity for a people-focused, outcome-driven Electrical Technical Specialist to join our Maintenance Services team. This role is offered on a contract basis until September 2027. The Operations and Maintenance group is dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient supply of water services to our customers through the operation and maintenance of our water, wastewater and resource recovery infrastructure. This group plays a pivotal role in delivering on Urban Utilities’ Purpose to “Enrich Quality of Life.” The Electrical Technical Specialist is responsible for providing technical advice across varying maintenance activities and projects to ensure electrical maintenance is executed to business and engineering standards. • Implement quality management policies and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of maintenance operations • Provide oversight and monitoring of maintenance activities to ensure alignment with operational goals across networks and facilities • Support asset longevity by contributing to assurance activities that optimise performance and reliability • Minimise operational and environmental risks associated with water and wastewater transportation and treatment • Deliver technical expertise and insights to support informed decision-making, including specialist input on HV and Hazardous Areas • Foster and support a culture of continuous improvement across maintenance functions About You If you have a strong technical background, currently working on medium to large maintenance projects in a trade or supervisor position and looking to take the next step in your career, this could be the role for you. • Cert III in Electrical Engineering or trade-equivalent • Minimum 6 years’ experience in electrical maintenance delivery within large and complex programs • Demonstrated experience in specialist maintenance activities such as HV and Hazardous Areas • Thorough knowledge of relevant WHS and environmental legislation, with a strong commitment to upholding safety standards across both internal teams and contractors • Strong demonstrable internal and external stakeholder engagement • Ability to convey technical topics to corporate teams to effectively communicate opportunities and risk • Experience in the water industry is highly desirable • A great team ethic and the ability to work with others to achieve team goals but also autonomously when needed At Urban Utilities, we believe our workforce should reflect the community we serve.
