About this role

Position InformationPoint Clare Public School is a unique learning environment situated on the western side of Brisbane Water on the NSW Central Coast. Our community encompasses an intake area comprising sections of West Gosford, Point Clare, Tascott, Koolewong and Woy Woy Bay. The school is currently a dynamic, personalised and connected learning environment that incorporates 21st Century learning pedagogy and features several open flexible learning spaces. The current enrolment of 468 students includes 23 Aboriginal students and 103 students with a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE). The school community's vision for Point Clare Public School is currently underpinned by a strong professional development program led by the APCI for all staff, HPGE opportunities for all students and an integrated Positive Behaviour for Learning program. Point Clare Public School is also an active member of both the Gosford City Learning Community and the Cooinda AECG. At Point Clare Public School every student is known, valued and cared for. Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary:1. Demonstrated excellence in leading the explicit teaching of numeracy and proven capacity to effectively balance a dual leadership role whilst supporting teachers of varying levels of expertise and experience.2. Demonstrated excellence in leading the explicit teaching of literacy including the evaluation of evidence-based, differentiated teaching programs, using data-driven processes to ensure effective learning for diverse student needs.3. High level communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with the proven ability to foster positive relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues, parents /carers and community. General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policyConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
