About this role

In this role, you'll: * Undertake labouring and manual handling tasks for a variety of bridges and culverts across the district at a sub-trade level. * Undertake a range of functions relating to maintaining timber, steel and concrete bridges, including assisting other trades and painting when required. * Work under limited supervision, perform routine and complex labouring/manual tasks * Safely operate a range of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools. * Be prepared to work away from home throughout the year and attend after hours call outs when required * Work a 9-day fortnight * You will have the opportunity to acquire new skills in plant operations, formwork, falsework, concreting, truck driving to further your industry experience. This is a permanent position and will form part of the Northern Bridges team For more information on this position and business unit, view the role description and information pack About you: We’re seeking a team-oriented worker who has an eye for detail and is used to working in similar environments. You must have previous experience as a Bridge/Road Worker Grade 3 level or related civil construction experience. You must hold the following qualifications: * Construction industry White Card * Valid and current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence * Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed You will have experience operating small plant, hand tools and power tools with a keen interest to learn on the job as well. High risk work tickets and Medium Rigid Licence are desirable but not essential as training will be provided. We take WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100 km distance from the South Grafton depot.
