Employment Type: Temporary Various Remuneration: $147,664 - $220,018 Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: CAM29986 Career Medical Officer - Emergency Medicine Casino and District Memorial Hospital Apply now for an Emergency Medicine Career Medical Officer (CMO) position at Casino and District Memorial Hospital for the 2027 clinical year, commencing 1 February 2027. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years of postgraduate experience, including extensive, recent experience in emergency medicine / critical care medicine and will be required to participate in a 24/7 roster, including day, evening or in-charge night shifts. The CMO will be responsible with providing independent, high level medical care, including the assessment, investigation and initial management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department. They will be supervised by specialist staff and provide supervision and support to the Junior Medical staff in the Emergency Department. This position also serves to support the completion of the Emergency Medicine Certificate (EMC) or Emergency Medicine Diploma (EMD) through the Australian College of Emergency Medicine. Where you'll be working Casino and District Memorial Hospital is a community rural hospital providing a range of public healthcare services including Emergency and inpatient services. Our Emergency Department provides emergency care 24 hours / 7 days per week. Casino hospital is a part of the Richmond Network of hospitals, including Lismore Base Hospital and Ballina District Hospital. Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service. LBH is an affiliated teaching hospital for medical students from the University of Sydney, University of Wollongong, University of Western Sydney, University of Newcastle, Bond University, University of Queensland and Griffith University. The hospital has a strong commitment to teaching and support for its Junior Medical Officers. Casino has a population of approximately 12,000 people and lies on the banks of the Richmond River. We are 700km North of Sydney and 200km South of Brisbane. Casino is amount Australia's largest beef centres and is referred to as the "Beef Capital" of Australia.
