About the Department for Correctional Services The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties Responsible and accountable to Manager Industries for general driving duties, delivery of refrigerated goods to the metropolitan area, other institutions and other areas as directed. Process associated documentation in relation to deliveries and assisting with the security, operation and quality service delivery of the storage and distribution functions at Cadell Training Centre. Drive departmental vehicles for pickup and deliveries. Work in a team environment. Special Conditions - Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements. - The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check. - Some out of hours work may be required - Duties require manual handling and lifting - A current South Australian Driver’s Licence, HR (Heavy Rigid) Truck licence and forklift licence is essential. - A flexible approach to working hours is required. - Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences. Additional Information This is a casual position up to 12 months with no guaranteed hours of employment and a 25 percent casual loading applies in lieu of annual and sick leave. The position is located at Cadell Training Centre in the Riverland, approximately 2.5 hours from Adelaide.
