Join the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) within our Emergency Department Mental Health Team (EDMHT) and play a vital role in delivering expert mental health care when patients need it most.
About the Opportunity As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 within the Emergency Department Mental Health Team you will be responsible for triaging, assessing and coordinating referrals from the Emergency Department, Community Mental Health Services, General Practitioners and the Central Coast Mental Health Telephone Triage Line. This position plays a key role in delivering specialist mental health assessment, care coordination and clinical leadership within the Emergency Department to achieve positive patient outcomes. In this role you will: • Deliver specialist mental health assessment, intervention and care in the Emergency Department. • Triage and coordinate referrals from a range of internal and external healthcare providers. • Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and support to nursing and multidisciplinary teams. • Drive best practice through quality improvement initiatives and collaborative, person-centred care.

About You We are looking for someone who has: • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with relevant postgraduate mental health qualifications and at least three years' specialist experience (or equivalent). • Advanced clinical expertise in mental health assessment, triage and crisis intervention. • Proven ability to provide clinical leadership, mentoring and support within a multidisciplinary team. • Excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills, with a commitment to person-centred care. • A collaborative approach and dedication to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and high-quality patient outcomes.
